winnie panicker

In this sunny bright morning,
When the rays of the sun just drop into my room through the
Panelled window on my left,
I can see sprinkles of colourful dust falling through them…

And the slight breeze, warm and stroking me with the slight heat
I feel like a floating petal on the bowl filled with water
The coolness beneath me makes me even happier in this breezy day
The breezy day of the heated sun

As I see a chilled glass of extracts, so sugary and sweet
And waiting to be gulped by me,
The tongue tingling juice just drips into me and I take it in
Feeling so overwhelmed and enthusiastic of the coolness that is spread in me

And the sun, just doesn’t seem to hide away,
He just shows how much he wants to be here, just be with
And not leave, and there he gives all that he can
In full amounts, just bright, skin scorching heat…but, that in his eyes, affection!

winnie panicker

There is a hallow of air around me,

and moisture filled atmosphere,

through which I breathe and feel

a mellowness of coolness, pampering

cuddling like a soft pillow on me,

The coolness seeps into me like a soft

Sponge filled with sugary sweetness.

Streaks of light, fluorescent and colourful

Purple, orange and blue,

Flickered through my eyelids

And then there was transition of phase,

And lapse in time...

Two drops of tears fell onto my hand,

And wept through the lines of fate
I held your hand tight

the variant lines of fate joined and cracked

as though in fortune and wrinkled.

On the road ahead there were boulders and rocks,

Stones and pebbles

And our lines of fate became stronger,

A suffocation of dependence and then tears again...

Pelted down as though you couldn’t let go...

Then the lights streaked again and there was transition

And change in the path well lain, but tough to climb

We climbed, searching a new destination,

On the peaked mountain,

I remember whispering these words,

Assuring...

“There might be boulders and stones

that roll over from the cliff,
but I will hold you firm throughout the journey

making sure you don't slip a step”

And once again the transient lights flickered,

now waking me up into a confused state,

heavy, yet light, in a state of frenzy, cool,

lightened emotions...

Transience, towards the future, a dream...

No...

The reality forecasted...

winnie j panicker with s p balasubramaniyam

The idea to produce an Audio album titled 'Flowers on the violin' was conceptualised by my course coordinator Fr. Biju K.C. He was my constant motivator to make this album a reality. I have been privileged and blessed as my album was released by the veteran singer Shri. S.P Balasubramaniam.
The experience of standing beside Shri. S.P.B on a large stage cannot be expressed in words. All the people who worked for the album were from University (Christ University, Bangalore) itself. I have had constant support from my friends and family.
The album was released under the banner of Snoopies Media Productions. The music for the album was done by Mr. Keval Chheda and Mr.Samrat Dey, both students of Christ University under their production banner 'Anima Productions'.
I should mention special thanks to Ms. Anupama Nayar for helping me out with the recitation, Mr. Gautham S. for editing the album and to Ms. Melanie Mendonza for lending out her voice.

Essence of those fruits,
that laden on the flower bed
Rose high above and spread
its wings amidst the air…

The air that sprinkled drops of joyous water,
And a thunder-less silent downpour of rain.
That murmur that I hear on the mellow outside
Gives me a sensation of a pleasant
Yellowish tinge of happiness.

When in those autumn days,
Those yellowish orange flowers
rained down to earth,
The dryness if the summer filled land
Was blessed with an autumn melody.

The sweetness of a jasmine flower
Spread through the mist
And a lovely song of this monsoon mist,
Played aloud its sober tone
With the lovely rains still dancing silent, lonely,
And with a fragrance of a happy fruit of joy.
